SUPER Collettiva della Liberazione

SUPER Collettiva della Liberazione

On the occasion of Liberation Day, the Susanna Orlando Gallery is pleased to present “SUPERCollettiva della Liberazione”, a choral exhibition that celebrates the concept of freedom as the foundation of artistic creation.

The exhibition, which opens on Thursday, April 24 at 6:00 p.m., was created as a tribute to April 25 and its profound historical and symbolic meanings. Liberation and Freedom are the key words around which the exhibition project develops: a deliberately free, deconstructed path, designed to break the mold and invite the viewer to an active, personal, never passive vision.

The works of 26 artists, including painting, sculpture and installations, have been chosen and set up with unconventional criteria. Nothing is left to chance, but everything is born from a creative act: from the selection of frames, to the sculptural bases, up to the visual order itself. The gallery owner Susanna Orlando wanted to offer a fruition experience that reflects the artist's freedom and at the same time invites us to reflect on that of the visitor.

Art, like any form of authentic expression, is intrinsically linked to freedom: emotional, cultural, aesthetic freedom. Only in the absence of constraints – relational, spiritual, political or existential – can the artist create works capable of moving, surprising, changing perspective. A freedom that many, throughout history, have had to defend even at the cost of exile, imprisonment or life itself.

Art is freedom. And today more than ever it is necessary to remember this.
